The opposition BJP has accused the Congress government in Karnataka of pandering to minority groups and disrespecting Hindus. This follows the approval of a Rs 600 crore plan for minority colonies in the state.
BJP State President B Y Vijayendra questioned whether Hindus did not contribute to Congress's electoral success, criticizing the government for its alleged favoritism. Opposition Leader R Ashoka added that the government is focusing on vote banks rather than addressing statewide development issues.
In response, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H K Patil emphasized that the decision is not politically motivated and unrelated to recent bypoll dynamics. Nonetheless, internal friction within Congress and among its Muslim leaders has surfaced as the community feels discontented.
