In a press conference, Assam Congress chief Gaurav Gogoi accused the BJP of manipulating exit polls to mislead voters. Despite these claims, Gogoi insisted that the state's silent vote favours the opposition, suggesting that a significant undercurrent has been ignored by pollsters.
Gogoi emphasized that a substantial portion of voters, particularly women, have cast their votes on pressing issues like price rises and governance. He accused the BJP of attempting anomalies in vote counting but ensured vigilance among Congress candidates and the public to prevent such actions.
Echoing Gogoi's sentiments, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar expressed confidence in an opposition victory, dismissing exit polls as misleading. Historic opposition alliances in Assam vow to ensure fair counting, while questioning BJP's confidence following approaches to opposition candidates post-polls.
