In the 2026 Kerala Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured three seats but failed to significantly increase its vote share, achieving only a minor rise to 11.42% from 11.30% in 2021. This figure, though slightly elevated, fell short of the 20% target set by the party.
Meanwhile, the Congress party made substantial gains, boosting its vote share to 28.79% from 25.12% in the previous elections. On the other hand, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) experienced a decline, garnering 21.77% of the vote compared to 25.38% in 2021.
The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) emerged as a key gainer, increasing its vote share from 8.27% in 2021 to 11.01% in 2026. The CPI and LDF ally Kerala Congress (M) both saw a decrease in their respective vote shares over the same period.
