Tensions flared in Karimnagar city as BJP workers allegedly attacked the vehicle of BRS MLA P Kaushik Reddy. The catalyst for this unrest was Reddy's controversial remarks against Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
According to law enforcement sources, BJP workers not only targeted Reddy's vehicle but also caused damage to the camp office of former minister and MLA Gangula Kamalakar, smashing windows and destroying flower pots. The altercation escalated quickly, prompting police to step in and employ lathi charge to disperse the workers.
In the aftermath, authorities took several BJP workers into custody in relation to the incident. Heavy police presence remained at various politically sensitive locations in Karimnagar to maintain control, confirming that the overall situation has now stabilized. Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the central figure in the controversy, is the representative for the Karimnagar Lok Sabha constituency.
