Among the delegation was China's Vice Commerce Minister, Li Chenggang, indicating the importance of these talks. He Lifeng is slated to meet with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Wednesday, as preparations intensify for discussions between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Bessent's arrival in South Korea is expected on Wednesday morning for a scheduled meeting with He, after which he will proceed to China. The meeting emphasizes the importance of trade relations as it coincides with the anticipated summit in Beijing.
