In a pointed critique, the opposition Left Democratic Front (LDF) chastised the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) for the delay in selecting Kerala's new chief minister. Accusations of failure to honor the electoral mandate were front and center during a recent press conference.
Senior CPI(M) leader and LDF convenor T P Ramakrishnan voiced concerns over the UDF's administrative actions, which he described as premature, and accused them of initiating measures detrimental to the people, including reports of increased rice prices at Supplyco depots.
The LDF, while offering conditional support to the UDF's developmental agenda, criticized the delay in forming a government and selecting leaders, emphasizing the need to respect democratic practices.
