Prateek Yadav, son of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav, passed away at 38 after suddenly falling ill early on Wednesday. Known for his low profile despite his political lineage, Prateek was declared dead at the local civil hospital.
Prateek's brother, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav, expressed profound shock over his demise. Prateek's wife, Aparna Bisht Yadav, affiliated with BJP, currently holds the position of vice chairperson of the State Women Commission. In a statement, the Samajwadi Party offered condolences.
Suspicions of poisoning have surfaced, with hospital sources confirming only an autopsy will reveal the exact cause of death. Prateek had a strained relationship with his wife earlier this year but reconciled with her later. Heavy police presence marked his residence as supporters gathered in mourning.
