In a significant move, South Africa's African National Congress (ANC) has thrown its full support behind President Cyril Ramaphosa amidst the 'Farmgate' scandal. The scandal involves thieves stealing foreign currency from his ranch, a situation that reignited pressure for his resignation.
The ANC's National Executive Committee convened this week, ultimately deciding to back Ramaphosa. Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula confirmed the decision at a press conference held in Johannesburg.
Despite the constitutional court's revival of impeachment proceedings, Ramaphosa remains steadfast, denying any wrongdoing associated with the scandal.
