West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Friday dismissed allegations of post-poll violence stated by the opposition TMC, ensuring that the government will take action after proper verification. Adhikari was responding to accusations in the newly constituted West Bengal assembly.
Opposition leader Sobhandeb Chattopadhyay had claimed that violence post-elections displaced several residents. The TMC demanded strict governmental intervention. Adhikari, however, maintained there was no evidence of such events and promised police intervention to restore displaced individuals.
The assembly session also included a walkout by TMC members following BJP's slogans. BJP MLA Rathindra Bose was elected unopposed as Speaker, and Adhikari emphasized the importance of constructive opposition and maintaining decorum within the House.
