In a press conference, Rajya Sabha member Kapil Sibal launched a scathing critique of the RSS-BJP following remarks by Sangh functionary Dattatreya Hosabale, which described terror attacks by Pakistan as 'mere pinpricks.' Sibal contended that such statements, if made by others, would be branded anti-national.

Sibal expressed incredulity at Hosabale's advocacy for dialogue with Pakistan, noting a double standard in political rhetoric. The former Union minister remarked that while his calls for dialogue with Pakistan were previously criticized, similar suggestions by Hosabale are now considered reasonable, raising concerns over political bias.

Reacting to Hosabale's comments on economic and religious issues, Sibal urged the RSS to align their practices with their public statements. The RSS leader suggested that people-to-people contact could defuse tensions with Pakistan, an approach welcomed by Pakistan's spokesperson, though back-channel contacts were neither confirmed nor denied.
