Targeted Airstrike: The Death of Hamas' Ghost

In a significant military operation, Israel's forces confirmed the killing of Izz al-Din al-Haddad, Hamas' military wing chief, in a Gaza airstrike. This marks the most prominent Hamas death since the U.S.-backed ceasefire agreement in October 2023 intended to cease hostilities.

A joint funeral was held at Al Aqsa Martyrs Mosque for Haddad and his family, whose deaths resulted from airstrikes where at least seven Palestinians were killed, including three women and a child. According to a Palestinian source, Haddad died in an attack on an apartment building.

Despite the ceasefire, Israeli airstrikes have resulted in approximately 850 Palestinian deaths. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and his defense minister announced that Haddad, who led Gaza's military operations after Mohammad Sinwar's death, was integral to the escalating conflict initiated on October 7, 2023.
