Backward Class Federation Warns Congress Over Potential Leadership Change

The Karnataka State Federation of Backward Class Communities issued a stern warning to the Congress party, threatening consequences if Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is replaced. The federation underscored that the party's power stems from the support of backward class and AHINDA communities, asserting Siddaramaiah's unmatched leadership stature within Congress.

Ramachandrappa, the Federation President, stressed their influence in electing the current government, voicing their rejection of potential leadership changes. The federation hinted at organizing protests if Siddaramaiah is forced to resign, highlighting the reported request from the Congress high command for him to step aside, possibly making room for deputy D K Shivakumar.

Amidst speculations of Siddaramaiah stepping down, federation leaders urged Congress legislators from allied communities to uphold the stance of maintaining his leadership. Rumors suggest Siddaramaiah was offered a central party role, including a Rajya Sabha seat, though he hasn't accepted the proposal.

Ramachandrappa reinforced that their demand for no change at the helm is firm, reflecting the communities' crucial role in the government's formation. Citing the anticipated leadership announcement, he advocated for a chief minister from the AHINDA communities should a change occur.
