Maharashtra Congress Protests Against Rising Fuel Costs

In Mumbai, the Maharashtra Congress staged a protest on Wednesday against the BJP-led administration, accusing it of imposing heavy fuel costs on the public. This demonstration, situated near the party office in Dadar, spotlighted the escalating prices of petrol, diesel, LPG, and CNG.

State Congress president Harshwardhan Sapkal voiced concerns over the worsening inflationary pressures faced by common citizens. He condemned the Centre for aggravating the financial strain on people through continuous fuel price hikes, leaving citizens in distress.

Protesters expressed their grievances against both the central and state governments, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, respectively. Addressing the media, Sapkal highlighted the absence and high cost of fuel, the challenges faced by farmers, and the prevailing public dissatisfaction. He accused the Fadnavis government of misinformation regarding fuel availability and called for stringent measures if hoarding was suspected.

In a symbolic act during the protest, party workers also handed out 'Melody' chocolates, marking their displeasure with the current administration.
