Siddaramaiah, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, has signaled his possible resignation. During a breakfast meeting at his residence, he shared his intentions with several cabinet members, including Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, who could potentially take over his role.

Sources revealed that Siddaramaiah is in discussions with the party leadership, following a suggestion from the Congress high command to allow a new leader to come forward. Despite plans for a transition, Congress officials, such as Randeep Singh Surjewala, have urged caution against spreading premature speculations regarding leadership changes in the state.

The discussions come after high-level meetings in Delhi with key party figures, including Rahul Gandhi. Siddaramaiah has been offered a central party role, possibly a Rajya Sabha seat, though he has not confirmed his acceptance. Political dynamics in Karnataka are thus set to shift, with anticipation growing over his formal decision.
