Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy highlighted the influential legacies of N T Rama Rao and former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on Thursday. He noted that the welfare programs implemented by his government draw inspiration from both leaders, emphasizing their enduring relevance to modern governance.
During the unveiling of an NTR statue in Ameerpet, Reddy remarked on NTR's contributions to enhancing self-respect among backward classes by dismantling outdated systems. He drew comparisons between NTR's and Indira Gandhi's impactful policies, including land reforms benefiting marginalized groups.
Reddy pointed out NTR's pivotal role in the political advancement of key figures in Telangana, such as K Chandrasekhar Rao. He also mentioned ongoing efforts to empower women, aspiring to make one crore Self Help Group women financially independent as 'crorepatis'.
The Chief Minister defended unveiling NTR's statue, asserting that NTR's influence transcends regional and political boundaries. Describing key figures like Ambedkar, Indira Gandhi, and NTR as national "gems," Reddy stressed the importance of their contributions to India.
