In a resolute response to claims of internal discord, former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel underscored the Congress party's commitment to its central leadership's directives. Speaking on Friday, Baghel countered BJP assertions that Siddaramaiah's resignation as Karnataka Chief Minister indicated rifts within the Congress, labeling BJP's allegations as baseless and misleading.
Highlighting disciplinary adherence within the Congress, Baghel stated, "No Congress member questions the High Command's decisions." His comments came amid political shifts in Karnataka, where Siddaramaiah's resignation has positioned Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar as a potential successor, following party high command instructions.
As Siddaramaiah tendered his resignation, BJP voices, including spokesperson NV Subhash, accused the Congress of failing in governance and succumbing to power struggles. BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla further criticized Congress, suggesting Siddaramaiah's resignation displayed his discomfort, while igniting debate over representation within Congress leadership ranks.
