Jothimani Accuses Congress of Candidate Selection Misconduct for Tamil Nadu Elections

Congress MP Jothimani has voiced allegations of significant irregularities in how the party selected its candidates and allocated constituencies for the impending Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, scheduled for April 23.

Jothimani claims that the selection process was manipulated to suit predetermined candidates, sidelining veteran party members with genuine electoral prospects. She warns that such malpractice could severely impact the party's future and urges an internal investigation to bring transparency and restore trust.

Jothimani suggests the committee overseeing candidate selection was led by Tamil Nadu's in charge, Girish Chodankar, and she calls for an inquiry by the All India Congress Committee. She believes that without serious electoral reforms, the party risks further eroding the confidence of its grassroots workers.

The Congress MP insists that reform is crucial for effectively opposing the BJP and protecting the Congress's long-standing political role. According to her, listening to the voices of district and block presidents, and ensuring integrity, will strengthen the party's political stance.
