NATO Pledges to Defend Territory Amid Rising Tensions
NATO has reiterated its commitment to safeguarding its territory following a recent drone strike in Romania, attributed to Russian aggression in Ukraine. Alliance chief Mark Rutte emphasized the threats posed by Russia's actions and pledged continued support for Ukraine and strengthening of defense systems.
NATO has reaffirmed its resolve to protect its territory after a drone attack struck an apartment building in Romania, a member state, during a Russian assault on neighboring Ukraine. This development was announced by NATO chief Mark Rutte on Friday.
Rutte denounced Russia's behavior as reckless and perilous to global security. He expressed these concerns in a post on X, highlighting how the effects of Russia's war of aggression in Ukraine do not halt at national borders.
In response, Rutte assured that NATO would bolster its deterrence and defensive measures domestically, while maintaining support for Ukraine in its battle against Russian aggression.
