The Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) have initiated discussions to develop a joint strategy for winning both Rajya Sabha seats in Jharkhand. The meetings were spearheaded by Congress leader K Raju, who collaborated with Hemant Soren on plans to fortify the ruling alliance's position.
To consolidate efforts, Telangana's Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka visited Ranchi under the directives of the Congress high command. After discussions, consensus emerged on fielding alliance candidates to secure both seats, with emphasis on tackling BJP competition.
Vikramarka expressed confidence in the alliance's prospects, noting the fruitful discussions with Chief Minister Soren. Congress MLA Pradeep Yadav reinforced the need for strategic effort to ensure victory for both seats, particularly as the BJP announced its intention to contest.
The election, set for June 18, has the ruling alliance determined to maximize its representation in the Rajya Sabha by securing a win for its candidates.
