Himachal Pradesh to Implement Census in Two Phases, Explains CM Sukhu

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu revealed plans on Sunday for conducting the census in Himachal Pradesh in two distinct phases. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the self-enumeration service provided by the Directorate of Census Operations.
From June 1 to June 15, 2026, citizens can utilize an online portal for submitting their data. The first phase, beginning June 16, 2026, will focus on house listing and housing data, while the second phase will deal with population enumeration from February 9 to February 28, 2027. The initiative will employ digital technology with enumerators using mobile devices for data collection.
