In a sharp critique, Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel highlighted the impact of skyrocketing LPG prices on the struggling hotel industry, while also pointing out the damaging effects of increasing petrol and diesel costs on key sectors like agriculture, construction, and transport. Baghel warned that the country is witnessing just the initial stages of rising inflation.
Addressing the press, Baghel stated, "LPG prices are escalating, coupled with a decline in availability, severely affecting the hotel industry. Meanwhile, inflation is climbing with petrol and diesel prices hitting crucial economic sectors." The Congress party reiterated its "inflation man" jab at Prime Minister Narendra Modi after commercial LPG cylinder prices saw significant hikes in recent months.
According to Congress, the cost of commercial LPG cylinders has surged by Rs 1,572 over the last five months. The party underscored the steep rises, with significant increments reported in Delhi and Kolkata, evidencing the financial pinch under Modi's leadership. The Centre, however, assures that fuel supplies are stable amid ongoing global energy challenges.
