Trinamool Congress (TMC) Chief Mamata Banerjee voiced intense dismay on Monday over the alleged violent acts targeting party MPs, Abhishek Banerjee and Kalyan Banerjee.

In a video release, she condemned the actions as 'absurd and authoritarian,' criticizing the mishandling of the law and order situation. Both MPs faced mobs over the weekend.

Highlighting the seriousness of the incidents, Mamata questioned the denial of medical care to the injured party leaders, recalling that doctors were called but hospitals allegedly ordered not to treat them. She assailed the current state, comparing it to totalitarian practices exceeding those of historical tyrants.

Her resolve was clear: These provocations would only strengthen the TMC. Mamata lambasted rumors about party leaders not supporting workers and decried the prevailing lawlessness. She contended that such acts aimed to intimidate or bribe TMC members, but instead, they fortify its resilience.

Abhishek Banerjee, recently assaulted with bricks and stones while aiding post-poll violence victims in Sonarpur, accused the BJP of sponsoring the attack. Despite sustaining an eye injury, he persistently pointed to police negligence in providing security.

Parallel to this, Kalyan Banerjee faced aggression near Chanditala Police Station, deriding it as an 'attempt to murder' allegedly by BJP affiliates. These events stirred arrests of five individuals linked to the attack on Abhishek Banerjee, with their court appearance following soon after.
