Inferno in Thane: Fire Engulfs 15 Godowns in Bhiwandi
A massive fire in Thane district gutted at least 15 godowns containing petroleum products and other materials. The blaze erupted in the early hours at Wadpe village in Bhiwandi. No casualties were reported, and fire engines managed to control the flames in about six hours.

A major fire broke out in the early hours of Monday in Thane district, Maharashtra, devastating at least 15 godowns. According to fire official Mahesh Patil, the blaze began around 3 am in Wadpe village, Bhiwandi, and rapidly spread to nearby storage facilities.
The Bhiwandi Nizampur Municipal Corporation (BNMC) deployed three fire engines to the site. The firefighting teams controlled the fire by around 9 am, though cooling operations are still in progress to prevent reignition.
The godowns housed various materials including petroleum, healthcare items, and cosmetics, which exacerbated the fire. The incident caused flames visible from a distance and a foul odor from burning petroleum products, highlighting the risks posed by stored flammable materials.
