India is poised to bolster its surveillance capabilities from space with the launch of the earth observation satellite, EOS-09, from the Sriharikota spaceport this Sunday.
The launch will be observed by a contingent of lawmakers from the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Science and Technology. The EOS-09 satellite will be launched onboard the ISRO's reliable Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) at precisely 5:59 am on May 18, as confirmed by officials.
Outfitted with a C-band synthetic aperture radar, EOS-09 can capture high-resolution images regardless of weather conditions, day or night. This capability is critical for varied applications, including agriculture, forestry monitoring, disaster management, urban planning, and national security.
