Tragic Demise of 'Nagarjuna': The Beloved King Cobra's Final Days

A notable tragedy struck the Van Vihar National Park in Bhopal as a male king cobra named 'Nagarjuna' passed away, the park officials confirmed. This comes just two months after his relocation from Mangaluru's Pilikula Biological Park.
The cobra, approximately five years old, displayed normal behavior until Tuesday evening, according to park veterinarians. However, on Wednesday morning, CCTV footage revealed no movement, prompting caretakers to investigate. Unfortunately, they found Nagarjuna deceased.
Authorities have ordered an autopsy to understand the cause of death. The king cobra, renowned as the world's longest venomous snake, plays an important part in maintaining ecological balance by preying on rodents, thus benefiting agriculture.
