An early morning phone call turned Tanveer Ahmed's life upside down when an unknown voice informed him of a tragic accident involving his family. His worst fears were confirmed: five members of his family, including three children, had perished when their car overturned and caught fire.
The accident occurred around 5.50 am near Chandauk crossing on the Jahangirabad–Bulandshahr road. Tanveer's son, daughter-in-law, daughter, son-in-law, and two-year-old grandson were all charred to death. His 15-year-old daughter, Gulnaz, survived with critical injuries and provided Tanveer's contact number to the caller.
Originally from Badaun, the family had been returning home to Delhi after a wedding. Tanveer and other family members advised against early morning travel, but his son Tanveez and his co-driver Zuber chose to leave early to beat Delhi traffic—a decision with fatal consequences, as sleep may have overtaken the driver.
