Tragedy Strikes Kyiv: Overnight Drone and Missile Attack Leaves Devastation
A Russian drone and missile attack on Kyiv and surrounding areas resulted in one fatality, fires in residential zones, and damage to a metro entrance used as a bomb shelter. Ukrainian officials report injuries and evacuations, highlighting the ongoing civilian threats in the conflict since 2022.

An overnight Russian drone and missile attack on Kyiv claimed the life of a 68-year-old woman, injuring several others and igniting fires in residential zones, officials reported on Monday. The assault also damaged a metro station entrance used as a bomb shelter.
Ukrainian authorities continue to criticize Russia for aiming strikes where civilians may be located. Kyiv's military administration leader, Timur Tkachenko, emphasized the unchanging nature of such attacks. Ukraine's emergency service personnel were seen rescuing people from blazing buildings in nighttime conditions.
The attack affected three of Kyiv's 10 districts, including multiple residential buildings, and damaged infrastructure like the metro station exit and nearby bus stop. This follows a previous deadly attack with hundreds of drones that caused significant casualties and destruction.
