In a renewed push for institutional development, Andhra Pradesh has allotted land to ten institutions in Amaravati, following the 18th Cabinet Sub-Committee meeting held at the Secretariat. The Minister for Municipal Administration, P Narayana, announced that a total of 884 acres have been distributed to 64 institutions thus far.
During the meeting, previous allocations were revised for certain institutions including the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Geological Survey of India (GSI), with newer allocations going to entities such as the Income Tax Department and the Andhra Pradesh Grameena Bank. Several other organizations had their allocations canceled due to inactivity.
The Minister criticized the previous plan for multiple capitals, attributing it to the inertia of certain institutions. The state is actively reassessing its land distribution strategy to ensure land is used efficiently, with over 10,000 workers currently engaged in Amaravati's ongoing development projects, a number expected to double according to favorable conditions.
