In a significant escalation of ongoing tensions, Ukrainian drone attacks have struck critical infrastructure in Russia's southern Rostov region. Russian authorities confirmed the targeting of a grain facility, a school, residential buildings, and a sports complex in the area bordering Ukraine.
The Russian defense ministry announced in a Telegram post that 40 Ukrainian drones were destroyed overnight. Particularly affected was the city of Taganrog, as reported by Rostov Governor Yuri Slyusar. While no casualties were reported, the strikes resulted in fires and damage to key facilities.
In the town of Azov, 16 km from the Sea of Azov, damage was reported at a grain warehouse and industrial site. These attacks occur amid intensified missile strikes by Russia on Ukrainian cities and increased drone strike capabilities by Ukraine since the war's onset.
