Union Minister Kiran Rijiju on Thursday heralded transformative projects aimed at reshaping Himachal Pradesh's tribal districts. Addressed in Shimla, Rijiju announced foundation stones for development projects valued over Rs 85 crore to be placed during his visit to the Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur districts.
This initiative is part of broader infrastructure plans, focusing on matching developments in border areas alongside giants like China, an effort noted as significant when contrasted with the previous policy stance. Key projects include a Rs 73.77 crore High Altitude Training Centre in Kaza.
The training facility promises diverse opportunities in sports and skills for local youth during harsh winters. Additional projects include an Indoor Stadium at Peo and a cricket ground at Kaza. Rijiju also hinted at future schemes targeting mid and lower hill areas, with further announcements scheduled.
