A devastating incident unfolded in Odisha's Puri district as a Fire Service vehicle struck and killed a college student on National Highway-316, police reports indicate.
The victim, Swayam Subham Senapati, a 20-year-old final-year Computer Science student from Samanta Chandra Sekhar College, was heading home when the accident occurred.
Authorities say the vehicle was allegedly traveling on the wrong side of the road. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended his condolences, announcing a Rs 4 lakh relief fund for the family. An investigation is underway, an official confirmed.
