Monsoon Fury in Himachal Pradesh: Torrential Rains Cause Chaos
Heavy rains have hit Himachal Pradesh, causing significant disruptions. Numerous roads are blocked, power and water supply systems are affected, and substantial economic losses have been reported. Authorities have issued weather alerts as deaths and infrastructure damage exacerbate the crisis during this monsoon season.

Himachal Pradesh witnessed heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours, leading to the blockage of 200 roads across the state as of Monday, according to officials.
The rain, which began on Sunday evening, has also impacted 62 power distribution transformers and 110 water supply schemes statewide, the State Emergency Operation Centre reported. Shahpur in Kangra emerged as the wettest area, recording 157.5 mm of rainfall, followed by Kangra city with 140.4 mm.
The weather office issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall in isolated areas of Kangra, Mandi, and Kullu on Tuesday, while a yellow warning extends to several other districts across the state on Wednesday. The ongoing monsoon has inflicted significant damages, with Rs 1,523 crores in losses, over 90 fatalities, and widespread destruction recorded so far this season.
