A section of an aging building collapsed in the heart of Kolkata on Tuesday morning, police confirmed. The incident occurred on Rani Rashmoni Road but remarkably, no injuries were reported.
The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) previously declared the building unsafe, issuing directives for urgent repairs, according to police representatives.
The building, fortunately, was unoccupied at the time of the collapse, thereby preventing what could have been a significant disaster, noted a police officer.
