In a move to honor Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming birthday on September 17, 2025, the BJP government in Delhi has announced an ambitious tree plantation drive. The initiative is part of the ongoing 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, encouraging citizens to plant trees in memory of their mothers.
This campaign is in collaboration with the International Year of Cooperatives 2025, themed 'Cooperatives build a better world.' The announcement follows the prime minister's statement during the International Cooperative Alliance General Assembly in New Delhi.
To maximize the tree planting effort, the Registrar Cooperative Societies has urged all cooperative housing societies, urban cooperative banks, and related entities in Delhi to actively participate in the plantation drive. The Delhi BJP's victory in recent assembly polls adds further momentum to this green initiative.
