The Rajasthan government has embarked on a mission to enhance public safety by targeting 2,699 structurally unsafe buildings across 224 urban local bodies. According to Urban Development Department Secretary Ravi Jain, these buildings will be sealed or demolished as a preventive measure.
Jain emphasized the need for vigilance among civic officials, instructing them to use clear warning boards to alert residents about potential hazards. He called for regular inspections and the expedited demolition of dangerous structures as a priority to avoid accidents.
Addressing additional safety concerns, Jain underscored the urgency of repairing electrical hazards. He urged collaboration with DISCOM engineers to secure loose or exposed wiring and to keep fire and emergency teams ready for rain-related emergencies.
