A flash flood swept away a migrant worker in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district on Monday, officials reported. The rescue operation is ongoing as search teams try to locate the missing individual.
The flash floods were caused by heavy rains in the upper regions, particularly affecting the Dhangri stream area, officials noted.
Three migrant laborers were attempting to cross the shallow stream when the sudden flood surged. Two managed to evade the floodwaters, but Pramod Kumar was caught by the strong currents, authorities said. Rescue teams, including the police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and local volunteers, are conducting a thorough search for Kumar.
