Hyderabad was hit by intense rainfall on Monday, leading to significant waterlogging and severe traffic snarls in several areas. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy promptly instructed officials to stay vigilant amid the ongoing downpour.
The Telangana Development Planning Society reported that the GHMC Ward office in Mahadevapuram recorded a rainfall of 151.5 mm, the highest in the city. Concerns escalated as roads were submerged, slowing down motorists and triggering a comprehensive response from traffic personnel and the Disaster Response Force.
The Indian Meteorological Department issued warnings of thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds. CM Reddy directed district officials to ensure coordination and provide relief measures promptly in vulnerable areas to safeguard lives and properties.
