The Maharashtra government is actively coordinating with Uttarakhand authorities after a series of landslides and flash floods in the Uttarkashi district left 151 tourists from Maharashtra stranded.
Officials reported on Thursday that 120 tourists have been contacted and are safe at an Indo-Tibetan Border Police camp. The search for the remaining 31 continues amidst disrupted communication due to poor weather.
Maharashtra's disaster management team, under Chief Secretary Rajesh Kumar, is collaborating with Uttarakhand's administration for rescue efforts, supported by ITBP, Army, NDRF, and other agencies. The state's emergency center is continually informing families of the progress in operations.
