The relentless downpour in Mukhed taluka of Maharashtra's Nanded district has resulted in five persons missing and countless others stranded, according to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

A dramatic rise in water levels at the Lendi dam, a key Maharashtra-Telangana irrigation project, coupled with incoming water from Latur, Udgir, and Karnataka, complicates the situation.

Efforts to rescue 225 individuals trapped in Ravangaon are underway. Eight have been saved in Hasnal, while 20 in Bhaswadi and 40 in Bhingeli await rescue, the CM stated. A coordinated operation involving NDRF, military, and local police is ongoing.
