Maharashtra Pushes for Rapid Launch of Chipi-Mumbai Flight Service

The Maharashtra government is moving ahead swiftly to initiate the Chipi-Mumbai flight service, according to Fisheries and Ports Minister Nitesh Rane. The prompt launch is seen as pivotal for Sindhudurg district, a hub of tourism.
Rane has called for all necessary approvals to be secured within the month, emphasizing the urgency of the project. He noted the government's commitment to supporting the service financially through the RCS funding mechanism akin to the UDAN scheme.
In tandem, the minister highlighted the need for timely completion of the marina at Belapur, Navi Mumbai. He urged the contractor to ensure commercial facilities are developed and leasable by March 2026, with all permits already in place.
