The accident's cause remains unknown. In parallel, the Kathmandu District Administration has advised against nighttime travel due to forecasted heavy rains. Assistant Chief District Officer Ashok Kumar Bhandari highlighted potential risks including floods, landslides, and soil erosion.
The Prime Minister's Office issued a flood and landslide warning for five provinces, urging extreme caution. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology predicted increased monsoon activity from Friday night, exacerbating flood risks.
