The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted significant rainfall in various districts of West Bengal, attributing it to a deep depression that has now weakened into a depression over interior Odisha.
According to IMD, sub-Himalayan districts, including Darjeeling and Kalimpong, will experience heavy to very heavy rainfall until October 5, while moderate showers are expected across the state till October 6.
The advisory further cautioned fishermen against venturing into the Bay of Bengal near the West Bengal-Odisha coast, as rainfall ranging from 7 to 20 cm is possible in both north and central regions.
