Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced an ambitious target to halt the flow of untreated water into the Yamuna river by 2027, aiming to intensify clean water efforts across the state.
He emphasized prompt coordination among government departments, advocating for the installation of new effluent, sewage, and common effluent treatment plants. Saini highlighted ongoing enhancements, noting that 91 sewage treatment plants are already operational within the Yamuna catchment area, with 11 more under construction.
Addressing industrial non-compliance, Saini ordered stringent measures against units bypassing treatment to cut costs. The chief minister also stressed using Corporate Social Responsibility funds to support treatment initiatives, ensuring every drop of polluted water is treated before entering the river.
