Scorching Heatwave Alert: Andhra Pradesh Braces for Record Temperatures
The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has issued a warning regarding severe heatwave conditions expected to impact several districts in Andhra Pradesh. People are advised to take protective measures as temperatures are predicted to reach extreme highs, with some areas recording temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius.

The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has issued a severe heatwave warning for multiple districts across the state on Saturday. The advisory affects 14 mandals, including Srikakulam and Parvathipuram Manyam, while 28 mandals face regular heatwave conditions, highlighting the area's ongoing environmental challenges.
Prakhar Jain, Managing Director of APSDMA, indicated that high temperatures are anticipated primarily in North Andhra and Rayalaseema districts. Citizens have been urged to mitigate health risks by avoiding heat exposure and staying hydrated. Precautionary measures such as wearing protective clothing and consuming fluids were highlighted as essential for safety.
Amidst soaring temperatures, with a Friday peak of 45.2 degrees Celsius in Salur, district officials have cautioned residents and farmers against prolonged outdoor activities. A range of safety suggestions, including avoiding thunderstorms, especially for farmers, were also issued.
