Uttarakhand Faces Scorching Heat: Schools and Anganwadis Shut Down

The Meteorological Centre released a warning on Sunday due to soaring temperatures in Uttarakhand's plains, prompting officials to shut down schools and anganwadi centers in the state capital for April 27.

Dehradun recorded a maximum temperature of 39.2°C, significantly above its seasonal norm, while Pantnagar registered the highest temperature at 39.8°C. In Mukteshwar and New Tehri, the temperatures were also above the seasonal average, reaching 28.5°C. No rainfall was reported from morning until evening, according to the center's bulletin.

The bulletin further stated that no significant change in temperatures is expected over the next day or two. However, a slight cooling may occur over the following days, with potential light rain or snow at high altitudes in select districts.
