A fire erupted at the Shangrila-2 Arcade in Ahmedabad on Monday, starting from an ATM facility on the building's ground floor. Flames quickly engulfed the structure, endangering occupants.
Remarkably, 25 people trapped on the top floor were rescued by firefighters without any casualties reported, officials confirmed. The four-storey building, housing a bank, offices, and a gym, witnessed significant damage, especially to two-wheelers parked nearby.
Kaizad Dastoor of the Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services stated that the blaze was eventually brought under control. Firefighters sent 38 tenders upon receiving the emergency call. Investigations are ongoing to determine the fire's origin, while officials commend the swift response that averted potential tragedy.
