In a clarification, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) stated that Jor Bagh has not been renamed 'Anupam Colony'. The tag represents colonies achieving high standards of sustainable living, not a change in name.
Shiv Sena UBT leader Priyanka Chaturvedi's earlier misunderstanding prompted NDMC Vice Chairman Kuljeet Singh Chahal to emphasize that Jor Bagh's designation as an 'Anupam Colony' is a recognition of its eco-friendly practices, including waste management, superior to altering its name.
This initiative, part of the NDMC's sustainability drive, requires colonies to achieve full waste segregation at source and efficient waste processing, positioning Jor Bagh alongside other model colonies such as New Moti Bagh and Bapu Dham.
