Community Efforts Turn the Tide for Pune's Water Supply

On Sunday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis praised citizens and local forums for their pivotal role in executing the equal water supply scheme in south Pune. Persistent follow-ups by residents were crucial in resolving years-long water distribution issues in the region.

Fadnavis highlighted this effort during a function that marked the commencement of regular water supply to areas including Dorabjee Paradise and Mohammadwadi. He emphasized the program as significant, illustrating the success of sustained citizen efforts. The scheme addresses Pune's historic challenges in water distribution, with previous high figures of per capita availability often existing only 'on paper' due to major network leakages.
