The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) issued a severe heatwave warning on Monday, predicting temperatures reaching between 42 and 44 degrees Celsius in various districts across the state. The alert affects 28 mandals, including Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, and Parvathipuram Manyam.

Prakhar Jain, Managing Director of APSDMA, stated that additional heatwave conditions are expected in another 21 mandals. Notably, Cumbum in Markapuram district recorded a peak temperature of 43.3 degrees Celsius on Sunday.

As the heatwave intensifies, light rains with thunderstorms may occur in parts of Manyam, Alluri, and Kurnool districts. Citizens are advised to remain hydrated and avoid prolonged sun exposure, while farmers are warned to avoid taking shelter under trees during thunderstorms.
