On June 1, a national workshop will convene policymakers, researchers, and innovators to explore sustainable strategies for groundwater management. Organized by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, the event aims to foster technological innovation and enhance rainwater harvesting.

The workshop will include intensive discussions on effective scientific and technological approaches to bolster water security. Participants will focus on practical solutions developed through research within areas like leachate treatment and irrigation management, aiming to address the complex real-world challenges India faces in water management.

This initiative will highlight community-led and institutional models replicable at the grassroots level. Technical studies involving high-resolution remote sensing and drone assessments on geomorphic impacts of sand mining will be explored to enhance sustainable infrastructure planning.

Additionally, specialized sessions will be held to discuss aquifer mapping in urban locales and model studies for large infrastructure projects like Bhutan's Mangdechhu Hydroelectric Project, with an aim of gearing the nation towards a sustainable future in water management.
